Dog-friendly accommodation in Augustów — VITA by Lake Necko

VITA Augustów welcomes dogs of every breed and size. Fenced grounds, a lakeside beach and the Augustów Forest 4 km from the property — a paradise for four-legged guests.

We know that a dog is part of the family — so we cannot imagine a holiday without one. VITA Augustów is located by Lake Necko on large, fenced grounds surrounded by greenery. The Augustów Forest begins 4 km away. Our guests regularly bring their dogs — they run around the fenced grounds, swim in the lake and join their owners at breakfast. We have prepared our rooms to make a stay with your dog comfortable for both of you. Bowls, a blanket and a paw towel await in the room. Waste bags are available at reception. Just pack your dog's favourite toy and come.

Augustów Forest

One of Europe's largest forest complexes — with more than 200 km of walking trails. Recommended routes include the yellow Augustów–Mikaszówka trail (62 km, along the lakes) and the green trail beside the Augustów Canal (40 km, through the heart of the forest). The woodland is full of scents — your dog will love it. Important: keep your dog on a lead in the forest, follow the land manager's signs and check the current rules before entering a protected area. The forest also has a higher risk of ticks — bring repellent and check your dog after every walk.

Boulevard along the Netta River and Lake Necko

A promenade along the Netta River and Lake Necko. Take an evening walk with your dog and watch the sun set over the lake. Along the way, you can sit on a bench and enjoy Augustów's famous blueberry buns.

Augustów Canal — the locks

The green trail along the Canal (40 km) is a beautiful, level walking route. Shaded by trees and peaceful — ideal for a longer walk with your dog. You can watch boats pass through the historic locks. Dogs must be kept on a lead — including in Wigry and Biebrza National Parks.

Beaches on Lakes Sajno and Rospuda

Less crowded than the town beach — surrounded by forest, peaceful and far more dog-friendly. Gently sloping entries into the water, sand and quiet. Perfect for a walk and a swim outside the main season.
